Lecoanet Hemant's F/W Show-- "RED CARPET"

Mumbai, September 9th 2010 –Lecoanet Hemant’s new Fall / Winter collection titled “RED CARPET” promised to be a combination of ultra-chic and glamour with an edge. The newest brainchild of duo designers is an ode to Tinsel Town combining the designers’ love for showmanship and all things sophisticated. “RED CARPET” was Lecoanet Hemant’s first solo show in Mumbai held on September 9th 2010 at the BMW showroom, Worli.

For the first time, Lecoanet Hemant made a collection of contemporary wear inspired by the sari, the iconic Indian outfit par excellence. Inspired by techniques of weaving and draping that originated in India thousands of years ago, the sari has never stopped inspiring Lecoanet Hemant. Combining this inspiration with the designers’ ideals of European feminity has brought together an uber-chic look with a twist.

This season, the collection is all about strong silhouettes with beautiful body wraps and double colour effects. It includes draped, embellished and layered dresses, which are sometimes separate, and sometimes a sheath – wrapped up, encircled in metallic chains and printed. The focus of the collection is on multi - tulle, silk taffetas, organza, chiffon, opposing trims and metallic chains worked into drapes and corsets. Color palettes of browns and greys are allied with neutral shades to radiate allure and personality.

Hemant Sagar says “This season is an ode to glamorous chic and the artisan expertise of the sari, which plays an important role in our house heritage. We have given it our contemporary interpretation through new ways of draping and weaving’.

To recreate the magic of the “Red Carpet” Lecoanet Hemant have tied up with Lancôme and Jean Claude Biguine for hair and make up.

Lancôme showcased some of the fabulous looks from their fall / winter collection, “French Coquettes” where the seductive colour statement mixes urban sophistication with witty chic. Saturated shades of black and silver blend with ruby red are the prominent colours throughout the collection.

Jean Claude Biguine has created an exclusive look for hair, which is a symphony of whimsical femininity and contemporary styling. The look reflects Indian vivacity blended with delicate shades of English elegance giving an impeccable finesse to the overall creativity. The look is inspired by Parisian styling and sophisticated imagery of Indian beauty.
